What is the Junior League of Winston-Salem?

Founded in 1923, the Junior League of Winston-Salem is committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League of Winston-Salem is a volunteer organization for women interested in making an impact in their community. The JLWS is part of the Association of Junior Leagues International Inc., which is made up of over 296 Junior Leagues in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

Who are our members?

The Junior League of Winston-Salem is made up of approximately 1,000 women who are committed to building better communities. Its members are career women, working mothers, stay-at-home moms, full-time and part-time volunteers. Although the JLWS may reflect a variety of races, religions, and ethnic origins, its members are brought together by a common vision to strengthen and improve our community.
