St. Timothy’s Women’s Shelter

St. Timothy’s Women’s Overflow Homeless Shelter (A partnership with City With Dwellings)

Program goal:  To create a welcoming environment from December to March by greeting guests and helping them get what they need for the evening at check-in.

In partnership with City With Dwellings, new members of the Junior League of Winston-Salem will assist in checking in guests on a weekly basis from December to March at the St. Timothy’s Women’s Overflow Shelter.

Members of the Junior League of Winston-Salem will provide and serve a full, hot-cooked meal and distribute snacks once each year of our 2021-2023 partnership over the winter months.

City With Dwellings is dedicated to eradicating homelessness in the greater Winston-Salem area. St. Timothy’s Women’s Overflow Homeless Shelter supports this mission by providing a safe space, hot meals, lunch for the following day, and community for women experiencing homelessness. The St. Timothy’s Women’s Overflow Shelter has been operating each winter since 2012 (with the exception of the 2019/2020, due to the pandemic).

The Junior League of Winston-Salem dedication to supporting women and furthering their health aligns well with the efforts of the St. Timothy’s Women’s Overflow Homeless Shelter, solidifying a positive community partnership for the years 2021-2023 as a part of our new member project. New members of the Junior League of Winston-Salem will fulfill on a weekly basis the check-in process by greeting guests and helping them get what they need for the evening, while creating a welcoming environment.
