Tuesday, October 30, 2018

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Fearless Winston Salem 1002 Brookstown Avenue

What makes a good volunteer, and how to say NO, so you don’t get overwhelmed. Join us for an hour-long discussion that will give you the tools to start or refocus your volunteering journey.

Feel free to bring a lunch, we’ll have water and seltzer!

Facilitated by Christine Kelley Storch. Christine has always felt called to volunteer beginning as Honor Council President in high school through Senior Class President in College. As an adult, Christine has had to navigate saying no to organizations that don’t fit with her core passions and creating the time necessary for those that do. Christine has served in many organizations such as Junior League of Winston-Salem (as President!) and has served on the following boards: Kaleideum, The Centers for Exceptional Children, St. Paul’s Preschool, Dogwood Garden Club, Meredith College Alumnae and Friends of Brenner Children’s Hospital, as well as being a vestry member for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She has also served on numerous committees for Whitaker Elementary School, Summit School, and others. Whew… you can see she needed to figure out how to best be an effective volunteer.
